Mandarin salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- vegetable oil - 1/2 c
- vinegar - 2 Tbsp
- sliced almonds
- snipped parsley - 1 Tbsp
- chopped celery - 1 c
- + 1 tsp - 1 Tbsp
- head lettuce - 1/4 item
- head romaine lettuce - 1/4 item
- dash pepper - 1 item
- dash red pepper sauce - 1 item
- green onions with tops thinly sliced - 2 item
How to make mandarin salad:
Salad:1/4 c. sliced almonds1 Tbsp. + 1 tsp. sugar1/4 head lettuce1/4 head romaine lettuce1 c. chopped celery2 green onions with tops thinly sliced Shake dressing ingredients in tightly covered jar. Refrigerate.Cook almonds and 1 tablespoon sugar over low heat, stirring constantly until sugar is melted and almonds are coated. Cool; break apart. Store at room temperature.
Tear lettuce and romaine into bite size pieces, about 4 cups. Place greens in plastic bag; add celery and onion. Fasten bag securely and refrigerate. 5 minutes before serving, pour dressing into bag; add 1 11 oz. can mandarin oranges drained. Fasten bag and shake. Add almonds and shake again.
