Ingredients/Components

  • eggs - 3 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1/2 c
  • butter - 1/2 c
  • cocoa - 1/2 c
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • white sugar
  • cake flour - 2 c
  • sweet milk - 1/2 c

How to make mahogany cake:

Cream butter and sugar; add beaten egg yolks. Dissolve soda in milk and add alternately with sifted flour. Mix cocoa and milk to make custard; add to cake mixture, then add beaten egg whites. Pour into well greased pan. Bake in moderate oven 35 minutes.
