  • eggs - 3 item
  • milk
  • flour - 3 c
  • butter - 3/4 c
  • soda
  • cocoa - 3/4 c
  • heavy cream - 1 pt
  • margarine - 1/4 lb
  • white sugar
  • few drops of vanilla - 1 item
  • Mix soda with a little hot water and add to mixture

How to make mahogany cake:

Cream sugar, butter, eggs, 1 cup milk and flour together. Mix soda with a little hot water and add to mixture. Mix cocoa in 3/4 cup milk until thick and add to other mixture. Bake at 350°.Brown Sugar Icing:2 lb. brown sugar (light)1 pt. heavy cream1/4 lb. margarine few drops of vanilla Boil brown sugar and heavy cream until soft ball in cold water. Add margarine and vanilla; stir until it starts to thicken. Great on Mahogany Cake.
