  • milk
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 2 Tbsp
  • butter - 2 Tbsp
  • pepper - 1/8 tsp
  • elbow macaroni - 1 c
  • buttered bread crumbs - 1/2 c
  • Cheddar cheese - 1/2 lb

How to make macaroni and cheese casserole:

Cook macaroni according to package directions. Drain. Place in buttered casserole dish. Melt butter in double boiler; add flour, salt and pepper and stir. Slowly add milk and stir until sauce thickens. Cut cheese into cubes; add to sauce. Stir constantly until cheese melts. Pour cheese sauce over macaroni. Top with bread crumbs. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Makes 2 to 3 servings.
