- milk
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- elbow macaroni - 1 c
- buttered bread crumbs - 1/2 c
- Cheddar cheese - 1/2 lb
How to make macaroni and cheese casserole:
Cook macaroni according to package directions. Drain. Place in buttered casserole dish. Melt butter in double boiler; add flour, salt and pepper and stir. Slowly add milk and stir until sauce thickens. Cut cheese into cubes; add to sauce. Stir constantly until cheese melts. Pour cheese sauce over macaroni. Top with bread crumbs.
