Ingredients/Components
- milk - 2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- bread crumbs - 1/3 c
- elbow macaroni - 2 c
- American or Colby cheese - 1/2 lb
How to make macaroni and cheese:
Cook macaroni according to directions. Drain. Arrange in shallow, buttered baking dish. Melt butter in saucepan, blend in flour and stir in milk slowly,. Bring to a boil (do not burn). Add salt and pepper and 1/2 cheese, diced. Stir until melted. Scatter other half of cheese over macaroni. Pour sauce over all. Sprinkle crumbs over top.
