Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 2 c
  • sour cream
  • salt
  • flour - 1/4 c
  • butter - 1/4 c
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1/2 tsp
  • mustard - 1 tsp
  • shredded Cheddar cheese - 1/2 1
  • cayenne pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • dry bread crumbs - 1 item
  • macaroni uncooked - 2 c

How to make macaroni and cheese:

Cook macaroni; drain. To make sauce, melt butter in saucepan. Add flour and stir. Remove from heat. Add mustard, Worcestershire, salt and cayenne pepper. Add milk. Put over medium heat, stirring constantly until bubbling and thick. Add sour cream and 1 cup of cheese to sauce. Stir until blended. In an 8-inch square pan, layer 1/2 macaroni, 1/2 sauce and 1/2 cheese. Repeat. Top with bread crumbs. Bake in 350° oven for 30 minutes or until heated through.
