Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 4 c
  • salt - 1 item
  • stick margarine - 1 item
  • all-purpose flour - 2 Tbsp
  • Velveeta cheese - 1 lb
  • box large shell macaroni - 1 item

How to make macaroni and cheese:

Cook the macaroni according to directions. Melt the stick of margarine in a saucepan. Add flour until mixture thickens. This could take more or less than the two tablespoons of flour. Add approximately four cups of milk. When this mixture becomes hot, not boiling, add the pound of Velveeta (cut into pieces; the smaller the pieces the quicker the cheese will melt into a sauce). Add salt according to taste. Stir this mixture constantly or it will scorch.

When the cheese is melted, pour over cooked macaroni. Place dish in the microwave for 5 minutes or if using a regular oven, place in the oven for approximately 30 minutes. You may have to add or reduce ingredients according to your preference in consistency and taste.
