Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 1 Tbsp
  • cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
  • water - 1 Tbsp
  • shredded carrots - 1/2 c
  • egg white - 1 item
  • soy sauce - 1 Tbsp
  • diced celery - 1 item
  • shredded cabbage - 1 c
  • dash of black pepper - 1 item
  • shredded lean pork, beef or chicken
  • egg roll wrappers about 30 - 1 pkg

How to make lumpia:

Gravy: Mix soy sauce, cornstarch, salt and pepper.

Filling: Stir-fry all meat and vegetables in 2 tablespoons oil for 5 minutes. Add gravy and cook an additional 1 minute. Cool and drain.

Paste: Mix flour and egg white.

For each lumpia, roll filling with completely defrosted egg roll wrappers (uncooked side up) and seal end with paste. Deep fry (375°) in 2-inches of hot oil. Makes about 30.
