Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- corn syrup - 1/2 c
- water - 1/4 c
- orange, lemon or peppermint extract - 1/4 tsp
- food coloring orange, yellow or red - 1 item
How to make lollipops:
You will need 12 wooden or lollipop sticks.Combine sugar, corn syrup and water in 8-cup glass measure. Use wet pastry brush to wash sugar crystals from sides of measure. Microwave on High 9 to 12 minutes or until mixture reaches hard crack stage (300°), stirring every 2 minutes. Stir in desired extract and food coloring. Pour over sticks arranged on greased foil or pour into lollipop molds. Let stand about 1 hour or until hard. Wrap in plastic wrap. Store in a cool, dry place.
To Make Lollipop Molds: Cut 1 inch off the top of twelve wax-coated 9 ounce paper drinking cups; discard bottoms of cups. Grease insides of top portions of cups. Punch hole in side of each mold; insert stick. Place molds on buttered foil. Fill and proceed as directed.
