Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 4 lb
- salt - 2 Tbsp
- water - 2 c
- vinegar - 6 c
- green food coloring - 1/2 tsp
- celery seed - 2 tsp
- cucumbers - 9 lb
- mixed spices - 1 Tbsp
How to make lime pickles:
Slice cucumbers and cover with 1 cup lime and 1 gallon water. Let stand 24 hours. Stir. Take out and put in clear water 3 hours. Make brine with remaining ingredients.Bring to boil. Pour over pickles. Next day bring to boil. Put in jars and seal or process 5 minutes.
