Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 8 c
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- water - 2 gal
- celery seed - 1 tsp
- whole cloves - 1 tsp
- white vinegar - 2 qt
- mustard seed - 1 tsp
- cucumbers - 7 8
- pickling spice - 1 tsp
- hydrated lime - 2 c
How to make lime pickles:
Slice cucumbers 1/4-inch thick and cover with lime water. Soak 24 hours. Stir often with wooden spoon. Rinse well and cover with fresh water for 3 hours. Drain and cover with solution of next 7 ingredients, then let stand overnight.
