Ingredients/Components
- Vinegar - 2 Tbsp
- Salt - 2 tsp
- Flour - 3 Tbsp
- Onion - 1 item
- Butter - 3 Tbsp
- Water - 5 c
- Slices Bacon - 4 item
- Tomato - 1 item
- Green Pepper - 1 item
- Carrot - 1 item
- Lentils 1 1/4 c - 1/2 lb
How to make lentil soup:
A goodly sized piece of left over ham to add to a ham hock, add salt and cover with water and simmer for 2 hours, remove meat from the bones and add it to the broth along with one pound of dry split peas, one large chopped onion and 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder. Simmer for 3 or 4 hours stirring frequently. Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a sprinkle of parmesan cheese and a dash of paprika.Recipe categories: Lunch/snacks, Soups & stews, Pork.
