  • Vinegar - 2 Tbsp
  • Salt - 2 tsp
  • Flour - 3 Tbsp
  • Onion - 1 item
  • Butter - 3 Tbsp
  • Water - 5 c
  • Slices Bacon - 4 item
  • Tomato - 1 item
  • Green Pepper - 1 item
  • Carrot - 1 item
  • Lentils 1 1/4 c - 1/2 lb

How to make lentil soup:

A goodly sized piece of left over ham to add to a ham hock, add salt and cover with water and simmer for 2 hours, remove meat from the bones and add it to the broth along with one pound of dry split peas, one large chopped onion and 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder. Simmer for 3 or 4 hours stirring frequently. Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a sprinkle of parmesan cheese and a dash of paprika.
