Lemon tea bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- flour
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- chopped nuts optional - 3/4 c
- beaten eggs - 2 item
- skim milk - 1/2 c
- grated rind of one lemon - 1 item
- lemon verbena, chopped - 2 Tbsp
- poppy seed and anise optional - 1 item
How to make lemon tea bread:
Cream sugar, shortening and salt, and fold in remaining ingredients, except poppy seed and anise. Bake in prepared metal loaf pan 45 minutes at 350° (glass 325°). Sprinkle poppy seed and anise on batter before baking if desired.Recipe categories: Breads, Lemon, Citrus.
