Lemon tea bread
Ingredients/Components
- shortening - 1/2 c
- sugar - 1 c
- large eggs - 2 item
- all-purpose flour
- baking powder
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- milk - 1/2 c
- grated rind of 1 lemon
- chopped nuts - 3/4 c
- Lemon Glaze - 1 item
- Add eggs one at a time, beating after each one
- lemon juice - 2 Tbsp
How to make lemon tea bread:
Beat shortening at medium speed until fluffy; gradually add sugar, beating well. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each one. Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture, alternating with milk, beginning and ending with flour. Stir in lemon rind and pecans. Pour batter into greased and floured loaf pan. Bake at 350° for 50 to 55 minutes.
