Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 3 Tbsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- eggs, separated - 3 item
- 9-inch pie shell
- rind of 1 lemon, grated
- juice of 1 lemon
- hot water or milk
How to make lemon sponge pie:
Cream butter. Add sugar and egg yolks. Beat. Add water or milk mixed with rind, juice, salt and flour. Mix well. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Pour in unbaked crust. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.Recipe categories: Desserts, Pie, Pies and tarts.
