Lemon sauce
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- butter or margarine - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
- water - 1 c
- lemon juice - 3 Tbsp
- grated lemon rind - 1 Tbsp
- to 4 drops yellow food coloring - 2 item
How to make lemon sauce:
Mix the sugar, salt and cornstarch in a small, heavy saucepan. Gradually add the water, stirring constantly. Place over low heat and cook until thickened and clear, stirring slowly with a whisk. Remove from heat and add the remaining ingredients. Mix well. Serve hot or cold over cakes or puddings.Recipe categories: Desserts, Sweet sauces, Sauces.
