Lemon pound cake



  • sugar - 3 c
  • milk - 1 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • plain flour - 3 c
  • Crisco - 1/2 c
  • lemon flavoring - 2 Tbsp
  • sticks butter - 2 item
  • large eggs room temperature - 5 item

How to make lemon pound cake:

Start with cold oven. Cream the butter, Crisco and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time; beat after each one. Add flour (2 cups), alternating with milk. Sift remaining flour with baking powder and salt; add to mixture, then add lemon flavoring. Pour into large tube pan. Put into cold oven; set temperature at 350°. Bake for 1 1/2 hours.
