- sugar - 3 c
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- plain flour - 3 c
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- lemon flavoring - 2 Tbsp
- sticks butter - 2 item
- large eggs room temperature - 5 item
How to make lemon pound cake:
Start with cold oven. Cream the butter, Crisco and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time; beat after each one. Add flour (2 cups), alternating with milk. Sift remaining flour with baking powder and salt; add to mixture, then add lemon flavoring. Pour into large tube pan. Put into cold oven; set temperature at 350°.
