Lemon custard cake
Ingredients/Components
- soft butter - 2 Tbsp
- sugar
- flour - 1/3 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- lemon juice - 1/2 c
- lemon rind, grated - 1 tsp
- egg yolks - 3 item
- milk
- egg whites, stiffly beaten - 3 item
How to make lemon custard cake:
Cream butter and sugar; add flour and salt, then lemon juice and rind. Stir in egg yolks and milk (beaten together). Fold in egg whites. Pour into a greased casserole; set casserole in pan of water and bake in oven at 375° for 45 minutes.Note: Cake will come to top with custard sauce below.
