Ingredients/Components

  • soft butter - 2 Tbsp
  • sugar
  • flour - 1/3 c
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • lemon juice - 1/2 c
  • lemon rind, grated - 1 tsp
  • egg yolks - 3 item
  • milk
  • egg whites, stiffly beaten - 3 item

How to make lemon custard cake:

Cream butter and sugar; add flour and salt, then lemon juice and rind. Stir in egg yolks and milk (beaten together). Fold in egg whites. Pour into a greased casserole; set casserole in pan of water and bake in oven at 375° for 45 minutes.

Note: Cake will come to top with custard sauce below.
