- buttermilk - 1 c
- all-purpose flour
- Crisco - 1 c
- lemon extract - 1 tsp
- soda, dissolved in tsp - 1/2 tsp
How to make lemon buttermilk pound cake:
Cream shortening and margarine together, blending well. Add sugar gradually; cream until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time. Beat well after each addition. Sift flour and salt together; add alternately with buttermilk, mixing well. Add lemon and vanilla extract; blend.
