Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 2 item
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- confectioners sugar - 1/2 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- all-purpose flour
- margarine, softened - 1/2 c
- lemon juice - 2 Tbsp
- grated lemon peel - 1 Tbsp
How to make lemon bread:
Glaze:2 Tbsp. lemon juice1/2 c. confectioners sugar In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs, lemon juice and peel. Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Stir into creamed mixture alternately with milk. Pour into a greased 8 x 4 x 2-inch loaf pan. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes or until bread tests done.Combine glaze ingredients. Remove bread from oven and immediately drizzle with glaze. Cool on a wire rack. Yields 1 loaf.
