Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 2 item
- granulated sugar - 1 c
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- rind of 1 lemon, grated
- juice of 1 lemon
How to make lemon bread:
Topping:1/4 c. granulated sugar juice of 1 lemon Cream the shortening and 1 cup sugar. Add lemon rind, eggs and milk. Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Add to first mixture. Place in greased loaf pan. Bake 50 to 60 minutes at 350°. Remove from pan.Mix lemon juice and remaining sugar and spoon over loaf while still warm. This recipe can be doubled.
