Leek pie
Ingredients/Components
- flour - 2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- 1/2 sticks butter - 1 item
- sour cream - 2 Tbsp
- ice water - 1/4 c
- Filling:5 leeks whites only
- butter - 1/4 c
- eggs - 5 item
- half and half - 2 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- nutmeg - 1/8 tsp
How to make leek pie:
Filling:5 leeks (whites only)1/4 c. butter5 eggs2 c. half and half1/2 tsp. salt1/4 tsp. pepper1/8 tsp. nutmeg Combine pastry ingredients in food processor until a ball forms. Wrap and chill for 2 hours. Roll out. Place in quiche or pie pan and fill with rice or beans. Bake at 375° for 15 minutes.Thinly slice 4 washed leeks and saute in butter for 10 minutes. Spread over bottom of pie shell after removing rice or beans. Beat remaining ingredients and pour into shell. Cook at 375° for 40 to 45 minutes. Cook remaining leek in salted water for 10 to 15 minutes. Use to garnish top of pie.
