Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- pkg - 1 oz
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- grated Parmesan cheese - 1/2 c
- shredded Cheddar cheese - 4 oz
- mayonnaise - 2 c
- shredded Mozzarella cheese - 4 oz
- medium head lettuce - 1 item
- onion, thinly sliced - 1 item
- can water chestnuts - 8 oz
- finely diced celery - 1 c
- green pepper, sliced - 1 item
How to make layered salad:
Spread lettuce evenly in bottom of 3-quart oblong casserole. Add layer of onions, green pepper, celery, peas and water chestnuts. Pack these ingredients firmly into the pan, but do not mix. Cover the entire top with mayonnaise. Sprinkle with sugar, salt and pepper. Next, sprinkle top with Cheddar cheese. Follow with Mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese on top. Do not mix. Cover with Saran Wrap. Refrigerate overnight or longer.Recipe categories: Salads, 3 steps or less, > 1 day.
