Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- pkg - 1 oz
- chopped celery - 1/2 c
- shredded Cheddar cheese - 8 12
- medium onion, chopped - 1 item
- green pepper, chopped - 1/2 item
- bacon bits optional - 1 item
- medium head lettuce, shredded - 1 item
- mayo not Miracle Whip - 2 c
- tomatoes, in small bits optional - 1/2 c
How to make layer salad:
Mix mayo and sugar very well. In a glass 9 x 13 dish, layer veggies starting with lettuce, then peas, celery, onions and green pepper. Spread mayo dressing over veggies. The dressing should be somewhat warm; it is easier to spread. Add shredded cheese and tomatoes, if wanted. Top with bacon bits.
