Ingredients/Components

  • salt
  • beaten eggs - 2 item
  • pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • clove garlic, minced - 1 item
  • grated Parmesan cheese - 1/2 c
  • parsley flakes - 2 Tbsp
  • cans tomato paste - 2 oz
  • Italian sausage - 1 lb
  • lasagna noodles - 10 oz
  • can tomatoes - 1 lb
  • whole basil - 1 Tbsp
  • fresh Ricotta - 3 c
  • Mozzarella, thin sliced - 1 lb

How to make lasagna:

Brown meat slowly. Spoon off excess fat. Add next 5 ingredients. Simmer 30 minutes, uncovered, stirring occasionally. Cook noodles in a large amount of boiling, salted water until tender; drain and rinse.

Combine remaining ingredients except Mozzarella. Place half of the noodles in a 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Spread with half of the Ricotta filling. Add half of the Mozzarella and half of the meat sauce. Repeat layers. Bake at 375° for about 30 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting into squares. Filling will set slightly.
