Ingredients/Components

  • lean ground beef - 2/3 lb
  • onions - 2 item
  • tomato paste - 2 Tbsp
  • clove garlic, minced - 1 item
  • salt and pepper - 1 item
  • butter - 1 Tbsp
  • can crushed tomatoes - 1 1/2
  • beef bouillon cube - 1 item
  • dried basil - 1 tsp
  • to 12 uncooked lasagna noodles - 10 item
  • milk - 2 c
  • salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste - 1 item
  • flour - 3 Tbsp
  • shredded Mozzarella cheese

How to make lasagna:

Sauce:1 Tbsp. butter2 c. milk salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste3 Tbsp. flour1 1/4 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese Saute ground beef in a skillet in butter until it loses its pinkness. Transfer to a pot. Peel and chop onions. Saute until transparent. Add to meat. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, bouillon cube, minced garlic and seasoning. Cook over medium-low heat, covered, for about 20 minutes.

For sauce, melt butter in a saucepan. Add flour. Stir to combine. Add milk, stirring. Cook for 3 minutes until thickened. Add most of the cheese. Let melt. Season to taste with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Pour half the sauce in bottom of an ovenproof casserole. Cover with lasagna noodles. Layer with meat sauce and lasagna noodles. Pour remaining sauce over top. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top. Bake at 400° for about 20 minutes.
