Lasagna
Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1 tsp
- oil - 1 Tbsp
- 8 oz - 2 pkg
- Parmesan cheese - 1 c
- parsley flakes - 1 Tbsp
- dash of pepper - 1 item
- clove garlic - 1 item
- ground beef - 2 lb
- cans tomato sauce - 2 item
- can tomato paste - 1 item
- medium onion, chopped - 1 item
- lasagna noodles - 1 box
- creamed cottage cheese - 2 containers
- basil leaves or 2 bay leaves - 2 tsp
How to make lasagna:
Lightly brown onion and garlic in oil. Add beef and brown lightly. Add salt and a dash of pepper, add parsley flakes, basil or bay leaves, tomato sauce and paste. Bring to a boil and simmer, uncovered, 30 to 40 minutes.Add 1 tablespoon salt to 4 quarts rapidly boiling water. Gradually add lasagna noodles so water continues to boil. Cook, uncovered, stirring occasionally for 12 to 15 minutes. Drain in a colander.
Mix together the cottage cheese, eggs, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper and 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese. Arrange 1/2 of lasagna in greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish. Spread with 1/2 the meat sauce. Top with 1/2 the Mozzarella cheese and 1/2 the cheese mixture. Repeat layers and sprinkle remaining Parmesan cheese on top. Bake at 375° for 30 minutes or until bubbling hot. Let stand 10 minutes before serving. Can be covered with foil and frozen or reheated. Serves 10.
