Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • chopped celery - 1/2 c
  • parsley flakes - 2 Tbsp
  • ground beef
  • salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
  • basil leaves - 1/2 Tbsp
  • Mozzarella cheese - 4 c
  • small can tomato paste - 1 item
  • large can tomato sauce - 1 item
  • small can water - 1 item
  • pieces lasagna noodles, cooked - 9 item
  • chopped onions and garlic - 1/2 c
  • carton Ricotta or cottage cheese - 1 item

How to make lasagna:

Cook noodles as directed on package. Break up and brown ground beef. Add onions and celery and 1 or 2 cloves of garlic. Add and keep on cooking tomato sauce and paste, water and seasonings. Heat. In medium bowl, mix cheese, slightly beaten egg and parsley.

Layer ingredients: first tomato mixture, then noodles, then Ricotta mixture and then Mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers. Bake at 375° for 30 to 40 minutes. Cool about 10 minutes before serving for easier cutting.
