Ingredients/Components

  • water - 8 qt
  • salt - 1/4 c
  • olive oil - 1 Tbsp
  • lasagna noodles - 1 lb
  • ground chuck - 1 lb
  • Mozzarella cheese, grated - 3/4 lb
  • grated Kraft Parmesan cheese - 1/4 c
  • pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • container Ricotta cheese - 1 (16
  • egg, beaten - 1 item

How to make lasagna:

Set out 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish. Prepare Basic Tomato Meat Sauce.

Heat water, salt and 1 tablespoon olive oil to boiling in large pot. Gradually add lasagna noodles. Boil rapidly, uncovered, about 15 minutes or until tender, then drain. Heat 3 tablespoons olive oil in skillet. Add ground chuck and cook until brown.

Pour 1/2 cup of meat sauce into the baking dish. Top with a layer of noodles (about 1/3 of noodles) and one half of Mozzarella cheese. Then add 1/2 of browned beef. Sprinkle with 1/2 of Parmesan cheese and pepper. Top with 1/2 of Ricotta cheese and egg (both mixed together). Beginning with sauce, repeat layering, ending with Ricotta cheese. Top Ricotta with 1/2 cup sauce. Arrange over this remaining lasagna noodles. Top with more sauce.

Bake at 350° about 30 minutes or until mixture is bubbling. Let stand 5 to 10 minutes to set layers. Cut in 2-inch squares and serve. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
