King ranch casserole
Ingredients/Components
- butter - 3 Tbsp
- Crisco - 1 item
- can Ro-Tel tomatoes - 1 item
- medium onion - 1 item
- can cream of mushroom soup - 1 item
- can cream of celery soup - 1 item
- Cheddar cheese, grated - 1/2 lb
- fryer chicken - 1 (3
- frozen tortillas - 1 pkg
- clove garlic if desired - 1 item
How to make king ranch casserole:
Boil chicken and take meat off bone; cut into bite-size pieces. Saute onion and garlic in butter until tender. Cut tortillas into fourth or sixths. Dip in hot Crisco. Remove fast. Blend Ro-Tel tomatoes and soups. Add onion. Butter casserole dish. Put layer of tortillas on bottom. Add soup mix; then layer of chicken. Repeat layers until dish is full. Top with cheese. Bake at 350° for 30 to 45 minutes.From March 1992 Royal Service Magazine.
