- sugar - 3 c
- eggs - 5 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- lemon flavoring - 3/4 tsp
- sticks butter - 2 item
How to make kentucky pound cake:
Cream together butter with shortening. Add sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each egg is added. Sift flour in baking powder and salt. Add this alternately with milk. Add vanilla and lemon flavoring. Bake in a large tube pan that has been greased and floured. Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes at 325°. When cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
