Kentucky pecan cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- cinnamon
- chopped pecans - 1 c
- egg yolks - 4 item
- vegetable oil
- egg whites - 4 item
- self-rising flour
- hot water - 2 Tbsp
- applesauce - 1 c
How to make kentucky pecan cake:
Combine flour, sugar, oil, applesauce, cinnamon, egg yolks and hot water in order listed; beat until smooth. Stir in pecans. Beat egg whites until stiff; fold into batter. Pour mixture into an ungreased 10-inch tube pan. Bake at 350° for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Invert pan and cool cake completely; remove from pan.
