Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- half and half - 1 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- all-purpose flour - 2 Tbsp
- margarine, melted - 1/2 c
- white cornmeal - 2 Tbsp
- eggs, beaten to blend - 3 item
- partially baked 9-inch pie shell - 1 item
How to make kentucky chess pie:
Preheat oven to 425°. Mix sugar, cornmeal and flour in large bowl. Stir in eggs. Blend in half and half, margarine, vanilla and salt; pour filling into pie shell. Bake for 15 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 375°; continue baking until puffed and golden, 45 to 50 minutes.
