Jumbo raisin cookies

Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 2 c
• cinnamon
• eggs - 3 item
• vanilla - 1 tsp
• salt - 2 tsp
• chopped nuts - 1 c
• water - 1 c
• nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
• soda - 1 tsp
• baking powder - 1 tsp
• shortening - 1 c
• all-purpose flour - 4 c
• raisins - 2 c
• allspice - 1/4 tsp

How to make jumbo raisin cookies:

Add water to raisins. Boil for 5 minutes. Cool. Cream shortening with sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Add vanilla and cooled raisin mixture. Add nuts. Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice. Add to raisin mixture and blend. Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 400° for 12 to 15 minutes. Makes 60.
