  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • pkg - 1 oz
  • milk - 3/4 c
  • butter or margarine - 1 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • shortening - 3/4 c
  • sifted cake flour - 3 c
  • egg whites, stiffly beaten - 6 item

How to make jello cookies:

Cream the butter and sugar with mixer, beating until light and fluffy. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk. Fold in egg whites. Pour into 3 greased round 8 or 9-inch layer pans. Bake in moderate oven (350°) for 25 to 30 minutes, or until top springs back when lightly touched. Cool.
