Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- cinnamon - 1 Tbsp
- vanilla - 1 Tbsp
- chopped pecans - 1/2 c
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
- cold water - 3/4 c
- baking powder - 3 tsp
- raisins - 1/2 c
- Crisco - 1 c
- cloves - 1 Tbsp
- allspice - 1 Tbsp
- coconut, grated - 1 item
- to 6 eggs - 4 item
- jar fruit mix - 1/2 item
- Sift flour and add salt and baking powder
- juice of 2 lemons and rind of 1
How to make japanese fruit cake:
Cream Crisco and sugar. Sift flour and add salt and baking powder. Separate eggs. Add yolks to sugar and Crisco. Add milk, flour, beaten egg whites and vanilla. Separate mix. Add to 1/2 of batter, fruit mix, pecans, raisins and spices. You will have 2 plain layers and 2 fruit layers. Use filling.Filling:2 c. sugar2 Tbsp. cornstarch3/4 c. cold water juice of 2 lemons and rind of 11 coconut, grated2 Tbsp. raisins Cook filling until thick.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Christmas.
