Ingredients/Components

  • water - 3/4 c
  • oil - 2 Tbsp
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1/4 tsp
  • chopped onion - 1 c
  • can chicken broth - 1 item
  • bay leaf - 1 item
  • can tomato sauce - 1 item
  • clove garlic - 1 item
  • minced parsley - 2 Tbsp
  • cayenne - 1/8 tsp
  • diced, cooked ham
  • sliced celery - 3/4 c
  • thyme - 1/4 tsp
  • uncooked rice - 3/4 c
  • chopped cooked chicken - 1 c
  • medium bell pepper, cut in strips - 1 item

How to make jambalaya:

Cook ham, onion, celery, green pepper and garlic in oil in large skillet until onion is soft. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil; cover. Simmer 40 minutes, stirring once or twice. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
