Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1 tsp
  • brown sugar - 2 Tbsp
  • butter - 2 Tbsp
  • cloves garlic, minced - 2 item
  • sage - 1/2 tsp
  • onion, chopped - 1 c
  • black pepper - 1 tsp
  • chicken - 2 c
  • rice
  • bay leaves - 2 item
  • thyme - 1/2 tsp
  • celery - 1 c
  • chicken stock
  • red pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • tomatoes - 2 c
  • ham - 2 c
  • bell pepper, chopped - 1 item
  • polish sausage or kielbasa - 1 lb

How to make jambalaya:

Saute sausage and ham in butter for 5 minutes. Add chicken and brown sugar; cook 5 more minutes. Add celery, bell pepper, onion; cook 5 minutes more. Add all spices and saut?© 1 minute. Mix in tomatoes and garlic. Cook for an additional minute or two. Combine everything with chicken stock and rice in a Dutch oven. Cook at 350° for 1 hour or until all liquid has been absorbed.
