Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- cinnamon - 2 tsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1 c
- butter - 1 c
- nutmeg - 2 tsp
- egg yolks - 4 item
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- ginger - 1 tsp
- plain flour - 3 c
- pecans - 1 c
- allspice - 2 tsp
- crushed pineapple, drained - 1 c
- egg whites, beaten - 4 item
- blackberry jam or seedless preserves - 1 c
- Add egg yolks, jam and pineapple
How to make jam cake:
In large mixing bowl cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolks, jam and pineapple. Blend until smooth. Add alternately dry ingredients and buttermilk. Fold in nuts, then egg whites. Bake in 3 greased and floured round cake pans at 350° for 45 minutes.Icing for Jam Cake:3 c. brown sugar1 c. milk4 Tbsp. butter1 tsp. vanilla Cook sugar and milk to soft ball stage.
