  • sugar - 2 c
  • cinnamon - 2 tsp
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1 c
  • butter - 1 c
  • nutmeg - 2 tsp
  • egg yolks - 4 item
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • ginger - 1 tsp
  • plain flour - 3 c
  • pecans - 1 c
  • allspice - 2 tsp
  • crushed pineapple, drained - 1 c
  • egg whites, beaten - 4 item
  • blackberry jam or seedless preserves - 1 c
  • Add egg yolks, jam and pineapple

How to make jam cake:

In large mixing bowl cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolks, jam and pineapple. Blend until smooth. Add alternately dry ingredients and buttermilk. Fold in nuts, then egg whites. Bake in 3 greased and floured round cake pans at 350° for 45 minutes.Icing for Jam Cake:3 c. brown sugar1 c. milk4 Tbsp. butter1 tsp. vanilla Cook sugar and milk to soft ball stage. Add butter and vanilla. Cool and beat until icing spreads easily.
