Ingredients/Components
- eggs, beaten - 5 item
- sugar - 2 c
- plain flour - 3 c
- butter - 1 c
- buttermilk - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- cloves - 1/2 tsp
- allspice - 1 tsp
- raisins - 1 c
- chopped pecans - 1 c
- blackberry jam - 1/2 c
- vanilla
How to make jam cake:
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add well beaten eggs. Sift flour before measuring twice. Add all spices to flour. Dissolve soda in buttermilk; add to flour mixture. Put everything together, mixing well. Flour raisins and nuts; add to mixture and stir. Add jam; mix well with spoon. Put into 2 (9-inch) pans or Bundt pan; bake for 40 minutes at 350°.
