Ingredients/Components

  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • butter - 3/4 c
  • nutmeg - 1 tsp
  • all-purpose flour - 2 c
  • eggs, well beaten - 4 item
  • allspice - 1 tsp
  • walnuts - 1 c
  • jam strawberry, blackberry and plum at least; may also include raspberry, peach, apricot and cherry
  • soda, mixed with the buttermilk - 1 tsp
  • raisins mix of brown and golden - 1 c

How to make jam cake:

Cream butter. Add sugar. Add eggs. Add jam. Add flour and spice alternately with buttermilk and soda mixture. Fold in nuts and raisins. Bake in Bundt pan at 325° for 1 hour and 10 minutes. Once baked, keeps several weeks.
