Ingredients/Components
- brown sugar - 1 c
- white sugar - 1/2 c
- Crisco - 3/4 c
- flour - 3 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- soda
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- cloves - 1 tsp
- nutmeg - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- eggs - 4 item
- blackberry jam - 1 pt
- box raisins - 1 item
How to make jam cake:
Cream together butter and sugar. Put soda in buttermilk. Sift dry ingredients together, adding alternately with the buttermilk. Add eggs; blend and fold in jam and raisins. Bake in 10-inch tube pan at 350° for about 1 or 1 1/2 hours according to your oven. Test with toothpick. I always line my pan with greased brown paper sack.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Grains.
