Jalapeno cornbread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- milk
- eggs, beaten - 3 item
- salad oil - 1/2 c
- chopped pimentos - 1/4 c
- bacon, cooked and crumbled - 1/4 lb
- cornbread mix - 3 c
- medium onion, grated - 1 item
- cream-style corn - 1 c
- sharp cheese, shredded
- clove garlic, crushed optional - 1/2 item
- very finely chopped jalapeno peppers fresh or canned - 1/2 c
How to make jalapeno cornbread:
Put cornbread mix in large bowl. Add milk and stir. Add other ingredients in order given. Bake in 3 greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch pans at 400° for about 35 minutes or until done. Yield: 12 to 16 servings.This freezes well and is excellent served with vegetables or as base for chili shortcake.
