Italian spaghetti sauce
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- water - 2 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- chopped onion
- cloves garlic, minced - 2 item
- basil - 1/2 tsp
- olive oil - 1/3 c
- cans tomato paste - 4 oz
- dried oregano - 1 Tbsp
- bay leaves - 2 item
- canned whole tomatoes - 7 c
How to make italian spaghetti sauce:
Cook onion and garlic in hot oil until tender but not brown. Crush or blend can tomatoes. Stir in the tomatoes and next 8 ingredients. Mix well. Simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally for 30 minutes. Remove bay leaves. Makes 4 quarts. Serve over pasta.Recipe categories: Lunch/snacks, Sauces, Main dish.
