Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 Tbsp
  • salt - 1 Tbsp
  • water - 2 c
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • chopped onion
  • cloves garlic, minced - 2 item
  • basil - 1/2 tsp
  • olive oil - 1/3 c
  • cans tomato paste - 4 oz
  • dried oregano - 1 Tbsp
  • bay leaves - 2 item
  • canned whole tomatoes - 7 c

How to make italian spaghetti sauce:

Cook onion and garlic in hot oil until tender but not brown. Crush or blend can tomatoes. Stir in the tomatoes and next 8 ingredients. Mix well. Simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally for 30 minutes. Remove bay leaves. Makes 4 quarts. Serve over pasta.
