Italian spaghetti sauce
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 2 tsp
- water - 2 c
- pepper - 1 tsp
- chopped onion - 2 c
- bay leaf - 1 item
- can tomato paste - 1 oz
- olive oil - 4 Tbsp
- chopped parsley - 1/2 c
- cloves minced garlic - 4 item
- tomatoes - 2 lb
- oregano leaves - 1 Tbsp
How to make italian spaghetti sauce:
In a 6 to 8-quart saucepan, cook onion and garlic in oil for 5 minutes. Add parsley, sugar, salt, pepper, tomato paste, tomatoes, water, oregano and bay leaf; stir well. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 2 hours. Add meat balls during last half of cooking time. Stir occasionally.Recipe categories: Lunch/snacks, Sauces, Main dish.
