Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 Tbsp
  • salt - 2 tsp
  • water - 2 c
  • pepper - 1 tsp
  • chopped onion - 2 c
  • bay leaf - 1 item
  • can tomato paste - 1 oz
  • olive oil - 4 Tbsp
  • chopped parsley - 1/2 c
  • cloves minced garlic - 4 item
  • tomatoes - 2 lb
  • oregano leaves - 1 Tbsp

How to make italian spaghetti sauce:

In a 6 to 8-quart saucepan, cook onion and garlic in oil for 5 minutes. Add parsley, sugar, salt, pepper, tomato paste, tomatoes, water, oregano and bay leaf; stir well. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 2 hours. Add meat balls during last half of cooking time. Stir occasionally.
