Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • garlic powder - 1 Tbsp
  • onion salt - 1 Tbsp
  • ground beef - 2 lb
  • cans tomato sauce - 3 oz
  • Italian seasoning - 2 Tbsp
  • onion, chopped - 1 item
  • olive oil - 1/4 1/2
  • green pepper, chopped - 1 item
  • can sliced mushrooms - 1 item
  • small cans tomato paste - 3 item
  • large can tomato puree - 1 item
  • oregano enough to cover top of sauce lightly - 1 item

How to make italian spaghetti sauce:

Cover bottom of large Dutch oven with olive oil. Add peppers, onions, beef and mushrooms. Cook until brown. Add tomato sauce, stir well. Add tomato puree. Fill puree can 1/2 full of water and add also. Add tomato paste. Important: Mix thoroughly or will stick to bottom of pan. Add onion salt, garlic powder and Italian seasoning. Add sugar and oregano last. Stir well. Cover and cook 2 1/2 to 3 hours on low heat. Serve over cooked spaghetti noodles.
