Ingredients/Components

  • chuck roast - 3 4
  • onion - 1 item
  • green pepper - 1 item
  • barbecue sauce - 3/4 c
  • Worcestershire - 1/2 tsp
  • water
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • garlic powder - 1 tsp
  • rosemary, crushed - 1 tsp
  • oregano - 1/2 tsp
  • parsley - 1 tsp
  • basil - 1/2 tsp
  • bay leaves - 2 item

How to make italian roast beef:

Leave roast whole and place in pan. Chop onion and green pepper and place on top of roast. Mix remaining ingredients and pour around roast. Cover and bake at 300° for 5 hours. Remove, cool and shred meat, removing fat and bones. Put meat back into sauce and bake for 1/2 hour more. Great on hard rolls as sandwiches.
