Italian manicotti
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- salt
- water - 2 c
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- chopped green pepper - 1/4 c
- ground beef - 1/2 lb
- cottage cheese - 2 c
- Italian seasoning
- minced onion - 1/2 c
- tomato paste - 2/3 c
- Mozzarella cheese - 1 c
- manicotti shells - 1 pkg
How to make italian manicotti:
Saute meat, onion and green pepper. Drain off fat. Add tomato paste, water, salt, pepper, sugar and seasoning. Simmer for 15 minutes. Parboil manicotti in salted water for 4 minutes. Drain on paper towels. Fill shells with combined cottage cheese and Mozzarella cheese. Place shells in shallow greased baking dish. Cover with sauce. Bake at 350° for 20 to 30 minutes.
