Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • salt
  • water - 2 c
  • pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • chopped green pepper - 1/4 c
  • ground beef - 1/2 lb
  • cottage cheese - 2 c
  • Italian seasoning
  • minced onion - 1/2 c
  • tomato paste - 2/3 c
  • Mozzarella cheese - 1 c
  • manicotti shells - 1 pkg

How to make italian manicotti:

Saute meat, onion and green pepper. Drain off fat. Add tomato paste, water, salt, pepper, sugar and seasoning. Simmer for 15 minutes. Parboil manicotti in salted water for 4 minutes. Drain on paper towels. Fill shells with combined cottage cheese and Mozzarella cheese. Place shells in shallow greased baking dish. Cover with sauce. Bake at 350° for 20 to 30 minutes. Serves 4 to 6.
