Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- pkg
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- stick margarine - 1/2 item
- egg yolks - 5 item
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- stick butter - 1 item
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- plain flour, sifted - 2 c
- frozen coconut
- box sifted powdered sugar - 1 item
How to make italian cream cake:
Frosting:1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese1/2 stick margarine1 box sifted powdered sugar1 tsp. vanilla Cream first 3 ingredients well. Add eggs, one at a time. Add flour sifted with soda alternately with buttermilk. Add vanilla, coconut and nuts. Beat egg whites and fold into mixture. Makes 4 layers. Bake at 325° for 25 minutes. Cool and frost with frosting.Frosting: Mix cream cheese, margarine, powdered sugar and vanilla. Spread on layers. Sprinkle nuts on top.
