Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- cream cheese
- vanilla - 1 Tbsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- coconut - 2 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- sifted flour - 2 c
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- margarine - 1/2 c
- box powdered sugar - 1 lb
- ground pecans - 1 c
- egg yolks save whites - 5 item
How to make italian cream cake:
Icing:1 large pkg. cream cheese1 Tbsp. vanilla1 lb. box powdered sugar Cream sugar and shortening. Add egg yolks, one at a time. Mix dry ingredients alternately with milk. Add pecans, coconut and vanilla. Pour into 2 (9-inch) round cake pans that have been greased and floured. Bake in 350° oven for 30 minutes.Icing: Let cream cheese soften at room temperature. Combine with vanilla and sugar. Ice cakes while still warm.
